This is a board for Mecha, Androids and Tokusatsu.
This means you can discuss about video games, anime and manga relating to mechs and androids such as Gundam and Ghost in the Shell or live action stuff like Tokusatsu Superheroes and Kaiju flicks such as Kamen Rider and Godzilla.
Before you start posting, read these rules.
• 1. Follow the Global Rules, Use the report function for illegal content.
• 2. Attention whoring posts may be deleted; this includes unnecessary namefagging and overuse of blogposting and avatarfagging.
• 3. Check the catalog before making a thread, so the board won't get clogged up with duplicates.
• 4. Spoiler NSFW content.
Follow the rules, be at ease and nobody will have any problems.
Whatcha buildin'?
Whatcha buyin'?
Whatcha just fuck up?
The embassy for /robowaifu/, the board of developing IRL robowives
I get enough of just seeing humanoid robots and just prefer the overall wild aesthetics of animal shaped mechs.
One of the things that make Zoids unique is that it is one of the few types of Mecha in fiction that happen to be lifeforms, but with the only thing unique to them is that they can reproduce and are natural creatures that evolved on their world.
Not all Zoids are built from the ground up, some of them were caught in the wild, tamed and fitted with cockpits for the pilots.
Another thing is that there are also feral Zoids that were once piloted by humans but then escaped or released living freely in the wild.
Zoids are native to the Planet Zi, a world that is much like Earth but with two moons. Zi was originally populated by an extinct human-like race called the Zoidians which were the ones that tamed and rode the Zoids before humanity colonized their world. The Zoidians may have died out but they may have mixed their bloodlines into the human population.
"Fiona" Elisi Linette, an Ancient Zoidian pure blood was the last of her kind. Juno Hera is a human of Zoidian decent.
The Organoids are among my personal favorites. They are small Zoids that can fuse into the cores of large Zoids and give them ultimate power. Zeke, a little dinosaur fuses with Shield Liger and helped it evolve into the first ever Blade Liger. Liger Zero has an organoid but permanently fused to its core unlike the latter that can diffuse.
Organoids have a special connection with Zoidians as demonstrated with Fiona and Zeke from Chaotic Century.
Which is your favorite Zoid and series?
Just on the border of your waking mind
There lies another time
Where darkness and light are one
And as you tread the halls of sanity
You feel so glad to be
Unable to go beyond
I have a message from another time
WE'RE BACK
SIEG ZEON
In other words, bring on the mono-eyes and stylish dress.
I am sorry to write something like this in a somewhat sister board, but we are actively trying to bring the 4chan /m/ refugees in there:
https://8chan.moe/m/
Stealing users from other boards is vile but I believe that the less we split the less we risk of dying out in this hard times
Please take a look, contribute if something is missing and reach out to other sites!
Enjoying the show, but... Char piloting the Gundam feels... dirty. Wrong.
>no gunpla/plamo general threads
what gives
>none in /toy/ either
lol
I am never going to financially recover from this, /m/aggots.
Let's start with a catch all.
Space Runaway Ideon / Densetsu Kyojin Ideon frustrated me a bit with its Tomino flair -instead of accustoming to it and to that of other renown directors I just think back to how good Yamato was- but the show and characters settle into place soon enough and it seems to be smooth sailing/suffering down the line, I'm just getting started (past the first 1/4th).
Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch a.k.a. Jibun Wo - I should have watched ten years ago, and it's a guilty ride for me. It doesn't make me sperg out but it's been a while without a shonen-like dose. I almost don't feel like finishing it.
We need an actual thread for this, judging by the "post an image" thread there are too many people coming here and not actually engaging in any conversations.
A random question I'll use to start it off: what's your favourite robot that's not from Gundam?
What are some good examples of mecha and toku content made outside Japan? I know that mecha is generally considered an exclusively Japanese phenomenon because of its roots in animistic religion and World War II era myths like "samurai spirit". That said, a lot of Japanese pop culture is almost heavily influenced by western science fiction, especially stuff like Starship Troopers and the Blade Runner movie, so mecha is more like blend of different concepts than anything unique to Japan.
What mecha vidya have you been playing lately?
Can we lay aside all the bullshit symbolism and waifu slapfighting to talk about some Eva robots? Say what you will about this show, the plot was nonsensical and depressing and the characters were obnoxious, but man, if you wanted to watch a bunch of robots beat the living crap out of some space aliens, this show was the shit.
Merry Christmas, /mecha/! From /co/.
So, Bandai Namco aired a series on Youtube Originals named Project Obsolete, with the help of Nitroplus, BUEMON, CyDesignation and Gen Urobuchi. It used to be paid but now it seems to be free to watch.
The premise is basically South Africa ignoring the No-Alien-Tech-Allowed Convention and adopting mechs dubbed "EXOFRAMES" along with a few other nations in order to rise up and be an equal to the developed nations of the Northern Hemisphere. Will the West toss the Convention away?
Opinions, pilots?
That's right, anon! This faggot who's made a comedy no one cares about, a stand-up comedy documentary, and a King Kong movie gets to adapt both Gundam and Metal Gear Solid. How many miles of dick do you think he's sucked?
Hey guys, /icup/ here with a question on how we're going to handle the next iteration of the Infinity Cup ( https://anon.cafe/icup/ )
We're trying to poll whether certain boards are interested in playing in the cup, or if there's some specific team that you'd like to see play. If you want to, please answer or add your own answer to the poll in https://poal.me/6x3j1u
It means you are going to be promoted.
When your personal life is gone, remember to notify me, it means you are going to be promoted.
I very much agree with this sentence, life and work, we choose to work because of life, and work makes us neglect life. When you want to get promoted, you have to sacrifice more of your private time to work.
Choice is a very interesting thing, and when you make a choice, it also means that you will lose something very pity.

A very interesting website
Since it seems people preferred this staying in its own thread, even though the last one got deleted/bumped off, I'll respect your wishes.
Hello /mecha/, I arrive at your humble board to officially announce the GCUP! The GCUP will be an exhibition tournament between boards of the webring that represent nations of the world, and will be contested under usual ICUP rules. In addition, we'll also be hosting friendlies for non-national boards/teams as part of the festivites. Friendlies can be played under normal rules, or, if you choose, under alternate (meme) rulesets that will be decided closer to the Cup's kickoff. If you would like to participate, head on over to the pinned thread at our board on Cafe. The event is set to begin February 13th, 2021. Look forward to having you there!
Fuck Gundams
Fuck Ideon
Fuck Scope frog
Junkmon will kick your ass!
ARE YOU FUCKING READY WARRIORS?
>What the fuck is this?
MechWarrior: Living Legends is an overhaul mod for Crysis that was the successor to the then dead MechWarrior series before MechWarrior 5 was released. In addition to piloting mechs, you can drive a number of both land and air vehicles as well as exit them and move about in an armored suit.
>Sounds sick. How can I play?
You can find the latest installer on their website, which will come with everything that you need.
>Can my computer run it?
If you have anything that was built in the last decade, probably, but that doesn't mean you should expect performance drops since it is CryEngine. Autodetect settings should be enough, but if issues persist, check out the wiki.
>When's the server going up?
While I have experimented with a test server, I wouldn't be able to keep it up for the duration of the gamenight. There are a plethora of public server options anyways and the regular players, though few, may appreciate the uptick. I can put up a temporary server if need be.
>Why are you posting this Wednesday?
It's a 10gb download, and even if you already have it installed you should make sure that it's updated, which can be done via launcher. There are some performance and control configurations (including joystick support) you will want to get familiar or set up beforehand.

I don't know if you guys care much since I know that Japanese mecha is different, but play anyways.
Only the dead linger here.
So anyone a fan of the Kamen Rider series?
I'm so far new to it and I wonder what iteration I should watch and and which iteration I should avoid.
So far my only experience with Toku superheroes are the Super Sentai series and their localizations growing up along with a bit of Ultra Man.
Anyone remember the shitshow that was Valvrave the Liberator?
Looking for more info, but only been hearing rumors.
Basically, rumors claims that Hasbro, now owner of the Power Rangers franchise is trying to cut ties with the Japanese production.
the problem is that Hasbro is trying to sell PR as a "serious action brand" for teenagers, but Toei has been trying to market it as a "children brand" in the last few years (starting around ToQger, and following with designs like the ones from Zyuohger , Kyuranger, and so on)
Of course, newer Super sentai toys being very kiddy and not marketable to Hasbors intended audience.
All this being teh reason why Hasbro skips some of the latest SS titles for adaptations.
Anyone has more specific info on this situation?
Here's the best trashc- Repository for these important service updates on the world's most sad fantasy football bull.
Back in 8/m/ we had a thread made to elaborate on a rough flowchart for mecha designs. It had some decent activity but it wasn't finished by the time shit went down. This is the latest version I had made by then, far from finished. Would /mecha/ be interested in continuing this?
Robots need something to fight so lets post the best kaiju designs. Can be anything from godzilla size to kamen rider kaiju, just cool monsters.
I have an idea. It's likely an incredibly foolish and demanding idea, but bear with me.
Our genre has been around for over half a century at this point, if not older. In all that time, we've seen the collective publishing of hundreds of manga, anime, and light novels. A fair number of them made it into English and are loved for it. However, many more have not. For this I propose a project, possibly in cooperation with /animu/ and /japan/ maybe even /a/, that project's aim being to track down and possibly translate obscure /mecha/ manga that is out of print and/or never made it out of Moonland. Pic related. Interested?
Weird merges or general designs.
Exactly what it says. Discuss your playthroughs, mods, and hopes.

You may add 1 additional weapon and parts swap 1 part for another. For example you could switch a Dom's bazooka out for the Gouf custom mini gun and replace the head with a Gyan head.
Dump your good shit here. Anything which has mecha content in the book. Models, concept art, anything worth reading.
