I wanna learn Blender. Help me bros!
I got to experience three cryoseisms in last 24 hours. This was a totaly new experience for me.

I had had about five inches of sleet with maybe five or so inches of snow on top until a few days ago. It got really warm for a couple days and it rained, so most of it melted and the ground was completely saturated. The temperature then dropped about 35 degrees right after the rain. It has been cold enough since then for the water in the ground to start freezing, expanding, and popping in little mini earthquakes. One was strong enough I could feel the vibration though the floor. They are surprisingly loud.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but using blender for real is not that fun.
Also surprised there are nip people using Blender, they like to only use expensive proprietary garbage
But if you still want it, and you haven't done it yet, you should probably start with the donut tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjEaoINr3zgEPv5y--4MKpciLaoQYZB1Z
Then maybe the chair or couch tutorial from here: https://www.blenderguru.com/tutorials
Afterwards you should probably ask the guys over >>>/agdg/ there are a few blender pros there

Looks like we've got a new one :)
>>11588
First, what >>11591 said, Blender is probably one of the most tutorialed software package on Earth, right behind Python. At the berry least, you will never find a 3DCG program with more free online guides and video tutorials than Blender.
Second, what >>11592 said. Blender is not fun or enjoyable. There will always be cacaty workflow friction and design flaws taking you out of your flow state while working. The UX is only just beginning to not suck donkey balls, but it doesn't matter because they change so much about the UI eberry other sub-version that you're better off never updating once you've gotten the hang of it. (The UI/workflow changes are often so radical that it outdates many of the extant tutorials to worthlessness, INCLUDING BLENDER'S OWN ONLINE MANUALS AND DOCUMENTATION).
Third, why Blender? What about it suits your use case? SideFX Houdini, for instance, does bretty much eberrything Blender does, but better and more consistently. It's also actually fun to use and doesn't crash nearly as much. Check that out and subscribe to/pirate it if it looks good for what you want to do.

For a long time, I've seen posts about how in an alternate universe, your waifu is real and she dreams of and misses you. I always took it for a joke, and a lot of it undeniably was, but now I'm feeling it and it hurts. It's definitely because I've been listening to this: https://youtu.be/sqK-jh4TDXo
Years ago, I got a similar impression from the Imperial Message, by Kafka. How a messenger is struggling across infinite space and obstacles to deliver a message to you that nobody has read except its author, but far away, you "sit at your window when evening falls and dream it to yourself." Except in that story, it always felt like a habby thing, rather than sad.

If you were being genuine, I wish I had replied earlier. For a long time, I wanted that as well. It was never a sexual thing to me and I shrimply thought the things related to women were nice. I was always too cowardly to pursue anything, but in the end I was able to make peace with the idea my gender did not need to dictate my choices or actions. No mater where life takes you, be habby and live on anon.

If you were just cacaposting please never do it again.

Nicely said anon.
Sometimes you're just sad because you pursue unattainable goals and you finally manage to feel good when you realize that all you have to do is reconcile yourself with who you are and stop wanting to be someone else.
Without going into a potentially uncomfy subject, I think this is one of the reasons for the high suicide rate among transgender people. They realise that despite all their efforts to change their skin, their inner pain remains and is compounded by new disorders.

It is also important imo to keep in mind that we don't have to choose between staying the little bitch that we are and imploring the mircales of Scince(pbuh) to reincarnate us as an anime Waifu. It's a false dichotomy.

Maybe fantasizing about being a woman could be a form of escapism for you, it's OK, escapism is good and helpful when your brain is kind of hurting but try not to be lost in it and make the necessary to improve your life as yours.
>Men will do awful things
Yes, as women can. It's not related to gender. People do bad things and others do good things. Just chose your camp and try to be the good guy. That doesn't mean you have to let the bad guys walk all over you.

You're welcome. I'm glad you were still hanging around to read it and I hope you are doing well.

Like the other anon said, I do not imagine women have life easier. Yes, they are, broadly speaking, treated berry differently, but that is a mixed bag of things I am certain wood be extremely unpleasant at times.

We are all individuals, and both men and women are cable of spreading goodness or harm. Anyone can be malicious and anyone can be kind.

It apears to me you could be falling into a pattern of envy and resentment towards others, men and women alike. It doesn't sound healthy to worry about things like having the upper hand in a scandal. If you are slipping down that kind of path, try to escape it. That kind of mentality will only end up hurting you.

I can't say I believe in some sort of karmic justice and there are obviously many things beyond our control, but treating other people well will shape their opinions of you. It isn't always going to be the case, but people tend to be kind towards those who share kindness.

It's actually the legendary flying basking shark. As far as scientists know it's the last of its kind. The creature is titanic. Accurate measurements are difficult, and length estimates typically range from 260 to 280 meters. It is not yet understood how the shark is able to stay airborne or obtain sufficient oxygen from the atmosphere.

It travels a seemingly aimless path at high altitude, but it is rarely observed more than a few hundred kilometers from a coastline. Much like its aquatic brethren, it is a filter feeder. It will periodicly descend to feed on seagulls and other coastal birds. It is not yet understood why the birds shrimply do not fly out of the path of the relatively slow shark. It is believed special structures in the gills prevent the birds from escaping.

This iconic photo featuring an unknown teenage girl and her cat was taken in 1989 as the shark passed by a grassy hill outside the small town of Koriko. There is no way to guess the age of the shark, but recorded sightings date back to the late 1300s. It is unknown if these historic sightings were the same shark.

There is a growing occult movement claiming the shark is a supernatural being.

I never found themes that was suitable forme, besides some of them have nice ideas. I don't do complicated rice but I need precise things like squared windows, color borders on focus and little things like that. Also yes, the worst part is knowing which file to edit and what tu put in. Just for Xfce you have Xfwm, the gtk caca and Qt.

I finally decided I don't like Fedora + KDE.
KDE is just soulless and brings to much distraction and bloat. Also it's a pain to configure as there are way too much tinkering things to achieve what you want to do. I hate how it comes preinstalled with lots of doodles and how you need to install way more to fit your liking.
I didn't try Fedora a lot so I can't tell but I'm not sure this system is made for me.
I will go back to Linux Mint but with Cinnamon. It's less modern looking and I'm afraid I will finally go back to Xfce but hey, why not.

Debian is so comfy but I need a more "out of the box" experience on this particular computer.

Getting older is weird /comfy/. I'll turn three dozen years old later this year. I truely now realize my opportunities are continually shrinking. There are things I will shrimply never have or do. This understanding has made what I have feel all the more precious. I feel aware of life in a way I never could have before.

I'll probably never be married or have kids. That was never for me anyway, but looking around me, I realize that point of opportunity is slipping away. I don't resent that, but It is odd to watch a window of life sailing by.

There is something wonderful in understanding the impermanence of yourself. Mono no aware, I suppose. Life is truly beautiful.

Stay comfy.

Hello to you all too.
I have a bird bath and it is frequented by noisy mynas, crows, and rarely, butcher birds. I saw a myna and a butcher bird both perched on the edge of the bowl at the same time. They looked a little uncomfortable right next to each other, but tolerated it. I think the myna was more afraid of the butcher bird.

The crows seem to always find bread somewhere and drop it in the water to soften it up. How do crows always manage to find bread?
Once I found that a crow had torn the skin off the back of a cane toad and had dumped it in the water to soften it up or perhaps reduce the toxicity of the cane toad poison (the poison glands are on the back). I had to fish it out and threw it in the garden but the crow found it again and put it back in the water!
I ended up having to bury it and the crow wasn't berry habby with me for that. It really stank. I've always wondered if it just wanted to eat it or was actively trying to get a high from the poison.

In fact Raven make great pets, are easily-trained, and very-faithful to humans.

I'm messing around with C after having never successfully learned anything about programming in my life. I'll probably have to brush up on math at some point. But what I'm realizing is that programming seems kind of like music. I picked up guitar by messing with it almost a decade ago and now I can't imagine what it's like to not know it; but for eberryone I talk to about it, music theory is this massively abstract and complicated thing. I imagine it's the same feeling with programming, except now I'm on the other side of the divide. Both are berry structural, both have small parts that you build out of, and both can only be practically learned through experience and osmosis, until finally it becomes second nature. You just... understand it. And both have endless clickbait tutorials that are all garbage.
I could be wrong, but it's interesting, and mostly it gives me hope that I can understand this. C is fun, so far.

You're not wrong, Anon. I can only speak to the C-family languages (C, C++, Python, C#, GLSL, OpenGL, etc.) personally, but I can tell you that they all follow similar patterns & prototypes. If you learn one in depth (C++ is my favorite), then in large part you know them all to a significant degree. I think your analogy with music theory is an apt one here.

Many things we eneed without knowing, such as but not limited to meaning in life, physical activity (not necessarily exercise), peer recognition, a bit of challenge, sunlight, social contact (skin contact for some), downtime and boredom, room to be creative... and even for the things we need (water challenge sugar dopamine) shouldn't exceed an unspecified, harmonious amount
Many of these used to be a given back then when people were 10 living in the same household and working the land, but modern life has destabilized many things.

Having no family is playing life in hard mode so it is at least part of what makes you feel down.

I wasn't a berry cheerful person before this girl though, but... Idk, I can't find joy in anything really. It as if eberrything is just a distraction. >I have always disliked physical contact and have never been able feel meaningful attraction towards others.
Not to push you on this I'm just trying to feed the discussion here and further my point about psychological balance as I understand it. Among the things humans need without necessarily feeling a conscious yearning for it like thirst or hunger, there is the need to belong which is reached by giving more than receiving and I say this from experience. I don't need to remind you guys how the anonymous/chan community was always carried by the voluntary participation of its members, be it in the form of OC, raids, flaming, DDoS among other things.
The modern conception of family leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it is presented through an individualistic lense which, when we think about it, is nonsensical. Having a family is more about providing, nurturing, sacrificing and protecting than eating homecooked meals or having a stinky biodegradable alarm that crawls on the bed to wake us up on weekends, although this exchange makes it last. It's more about building a balanced relationship of respect and benevolence with an underlying power dynamic which integrates each party's temperament and emotions where intimacy is a means and not the end, as opposed to a tinder encounter or anything promoted by the modern hookup culture.
Similarly to gardening or building a village in Animal Crossing, it isn't the contact with plants or the plastic of the controller that has soothing effect but the activity of developping something and taking care of it. Mental functions like empathy, creativity, competitivity, generosity etc are built into us and need to be exercised regularly to keep us in shape the same way we need to walk, run and swim. And raising a family is literally the most comprehensive exercise for that.

But if it's not for you I really hope you find a fitting substitute

Against my better judgement, I went and read a few places here and there on the internet where I used to lurk, and it was awful. It's absurd that somebody can think it's a good idea or humorous to just act so mean-spirited and paranoid, and what's more is that eberry such post they read or make conditions them more and more, until it's totally automatic. It's callousing. I thank God that reacting against it is a sign that it can be healed.

I couldn't post for some months because my monitor broke under warranty. I called the store, send back the thing and waited patiently for some time. After all, internet is not eberrything and spent those weeks reading and doing other things.
After two months, I started calling them because I thought I was getting scammed, the tracker didn't move for the past 3 weeks. Fast forward some more weeks, they say they can't repair the monitor and that they can send a replacement. Asked for a refund instead, they say they can add money to my account but not a proper refund.
If you live in the old world, comfies, don't let them scam you. I read the consumer laws and they have to refund you if they take more than a month to repair your stuff. I called them again and after some back and forth, they agree to refund me when I begin to read them their own warranty conditions.

Nothing feels more comfy than writing this in my new monitor after 3 weeks of fight with a bunch of scammers. Know your rights, the comfiness must prevail.

I think I talked about it previously, but it's a bit odd how, if you focus on the problems, they just get bigger instead of slowing down.
So the only course of action is to
>Pretend what was being a nuisance means nothing

So far it works good enough. Could be better but it's still my best strategy towards things that miff me.

That's the best thing to do. I was thinking earlier about how it's never enough, and how greedy the brain is. If you're alone, you feel alone; if you know someone, they don't understand you; if they understand you, you take turns complaining about things. The brain isn't content feeling bad, it wants to wallow in it. That's how it's been in my past, and how it seems to be on a lot of the internet where people make habits of feeling bad. I guess it's a human thing that can't really be stopped, but it can be helped. I spent enough time alone so that now I'm mostly just annoyed by it instead of affected.
Anyway, people are silly. I hope you and the anons above can focus on the habbier stuff. Feel good, you know?

Anybody have any comfy plans for the next few days? I'm working on putting together custom inline spinners. I also have a few albums picked out and plan on drinking a cute owl beer after a bit.

The spinners will not be traditional wire baits, but will based around using high strength ball bearing swivels hooked to a size 7 Colorado blade as the body. Making them that way causes the bait to have a hard and erratic shimmy as the blade spins. The swivels will pivot outward with the momentum and add a nice level of instability to the whole thing. I'll play around with a few vibrating jig trailers amd hooks see what produces the best tail action. I also plan on experimenting with a large drop shot weight in front the blade to see if I can get this to sink nose first and have the blade keep spinning.
>>13091

It's a good strategy if your problems aren't really problems in the end, but sometimes you just have to face them to fight and eventually overcome them.

But yes, you have to be careful not to let yourself be consumed by the bad things that habben sometimes, because in the end you realize that what you thought were problems were only illusory.

The Hitachino Nest White Ale was berry good. Thankfully, it is not owl flavored. It's a berry smooth witbier with lightly bitter orange and spice flavors, I believe coriander and probably nutmeg. The yeast yielded a berry noticeable but not overwhelming banana flavor. The carbonation was substantial and pleasant. It is too expensive for me to drink regularly, but I will be working it into my rotation from time to time.

>>13108
It ran berry cleanly and as intended. I will play around with the design a bit more, but I am confident this will work well over and through vegetation for pike. I'm looking at incorporating a rattle too. I'd like something that sounded like the large single ball rattle chambers in some top water baits and knocker-style lipless crankbaits. Canabalizing the rattle ball from a Yo-Zuri knuckle bait wood be ideal, but they were disconnected a while ago, and I'd rather not deal with finding and buying them on ebay or something.

i have a theory that most of the evil on this world results from weakness, true weakness
i define actual strength as the ability to withstand or even ignore pressure from the environment, like heat cold impacts social pressure etc
temptation is one such influence from the environment

so many people steal, lie or cheat for fear of greater consequences from the environment than the disgust of stooping so low
you need to stand your ground and say quack you, you aint gonna do caca
it will hurt, it may bruise
but ultimately you're berry likely to survive

said something stupid? own up to it, it habbens, who gives a caca
eberryone farts, and nobody died from the shame
forgot something ? bah doesn't matter, you're valuable enough the rest of the time so that it shouldn't register
hobgot keeps focusing on a small mistake you made ? he's trying to pressure you and make you fold, quack him

we need to stop lying, we need to stop making excuses
if some assholes doesn't like us what then ? my boss has been trying to look for an excuse to fire me for months now but im too valuable for the team kek
but i will still dump their ass the moment i find a better offer
or even before actually, quack them

this kind of freedom makes it so much easier to open up to people who deserve it, to show kindness
to be liked by others ? no, quack that
but because it feels so quacking good to be nice
