The doggo has been a berry good boy. He's berry obedient and calm. I found this turtle along the side of the road when I was heading over to my dad's to feed the him and play fetch yesterday morning.

I remember rescuing a big turtle (bigger than that one) trying to make his way across a busy roadway during rush hour traffic one morning. The woman who came along behind me would've literally run him right over if I had gotten square in the roadway and shouted her down.

The turtle was trying to make his way over to a big pond. I hauled him up off the road (him hissing & threatening me heh :D and sat him near to the water.

Yeah mine was probably 18" long snout to tail. He was deffo threatening me. I'm sure he could've taken a finger off 'n nommed it if I had been careless.

Turtlebros are bros, but the snappers can be dangerous! :D

I've rescued box turtles on several occasions, a couple of times even off the highway. Little red newts too. I'm always a little wary about the newts because they're so poisonous but I won't allow them to get crushed if I can help it.

Last night I took a walk in the woods to think something over, and came across a bunch of fog. It kept pulling away, so I had to follow it to get any shots. This time of the year it's quite light all day round, the video is from midnight.

Be strong anon, try to overcome them somehow. Get in touch with a local structure that can help you if you need it.

Is there a particular reason why you're having these thoughts?
Replies: >>13960

Not sure, but it may be work related.
I've been stuck in the same tasks for too much time, but there is no way I can make things move forward since what I have to change depends on another team.
And even then, my leader says "don't try to burn yourself out" when I ask for new tasks.
Sprint Reviews and Daily Meetings have been agonizing because of this.

Work can be bitch sometimes, I know that feel.
Try to find the good stuff outside of work, it helps a lot until things get better. Tell yourself that nothing is ever final and that you can always find another job if you put your mind to it. Personally, I'm thinking of changing soon, even if I don't have any qualifications or skills, I figure I could always get some training.
Just thinking about it helps you get through the crappy times at work.

Hope things will get better anon, don't do anything stupid!
Replies: >>13962

>you can always find another job if you put your mind to it
Ehhhhhhh, I just got this job last November, and I only got assigned to a team this February.
I don't wanna throw the towel yet, given that the job market for software devs is not bretty. I just wish I was doing something else that could help my growth in the company and that made me feel like I am actually doing something.
Replies: >>13963 >>13964
>>13962
Oooh I see.
In that case, there's nothing to do but sit back and wait for things to move in a better direction, I suppose.
Anyway, stay strong, there will always be a better tomorrow.
>>13962
Your direct manager clearly wants you to just take it easy/cherry pick. Why not do just that, Anon?

In the meantime, find a software-related hobby to invest your interests into during the interim (since clearly boredom is tormenting you). What kind of dev? Here's an easy-to-follow walkthrough on using C++ for ML inferencing (so-called "AI") -- maybe it would be of some interest to you:
https://medium.com/data-science/llama-cpp-writing-a-simple-c-inference-program-for-gguf-llm-models-12bc5f58505f

Good luck, Anon.

>Your direct manager clearly wants you to just take it easy/cherry pick. Why not do just that, Anon?
Because, despite him telling me to take it easy, the rest of the team seems to be in a hot spot, and I don't think I should be like that considering this.
>In the meantime, find a software-related hobby to invest your interests into during the interim (since clearly boredom is tormenting you)
I actually was gonna do something related to that, since where I work, they really want people to integrate AI to their workflow. Something about model context protocols and tools like windsurf to increase productivity.
I may think relying too much on AI may be a bit of a bad idea, but since I got nothing going for right now, I may dip my toes there.

Thanks anon
