rule 1 is overkill in current times
rule 4 discards using rule 1 as a shitposting loophole but i doubt the community cares if its funny and has effort behind it
besides one blackwashed stud is shitposting right now using something official
never thought i see shitposting over b*onic* again in my life
rule 5 is overkill with spoilers but i think it can stay the way it is
heres a verbose proposal
Rules of /lego/
1 : Do not promote raids or doxxing
1a : Doxxing brand objects and homebrew objects is allowed, not persons
2 : Do not spam
2a : Dumping of relevant images, and relevant attachments is allowed, in their on-topic threads
2b : Same type of thread repeated without reaching a bump limit will be considered spamming, regardless of the interval, posts may get merged to the primary thread
3 : Do not sign your posts with a name, avatar, signature, or any variations thereof
3a : Using a cap-code without good reason means lost of volunteer position, and possible ban

I don't know where to start exactly. The set I got was the rose with baby's breath set >>1441
I'm not sure if it was a good first set to experience the Botanicals theme since it, obviously, pretty one note and there's also a lot of repetition. All of the others I've seen either have only a few flowers of the same type or a huge bouquet of many different kinds. The roses are quite pretty though.

Despite it having a large number of pieces it went together very easy and quickly. Even though these floral sets are meant for adults and having a lot of bricks (this one had over 800) I think an older kid could put them together if they were the patient type, particularly since they can be made in stages instead of it being one single 800 piece construction. If you were getting one for a lego kid then I would pick one of the smaller floral sets or one that's more interesting like the bonsai one. The store also had a much smaller rose set that only had a couple of flowers.

One definite negative with these is that if the box doesn't prominently feature a container then that means that it doesn't come with one so you'll have to provide one yourself or build one. I haven't seen any lego vase sets yet either.

The rose petal bricks are really nice and if you were so inclined you could probably acquire a bunch of these sets to repurpose them for some

How many have you played, if any? Generally speaking I'm quite sour with TT after the unfinished mess that was the Hobbit game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they have a day-one DLC for that one? What sad times we must be living in where even Lego is not safe from the ravages of the modern video game market.
Anyway, holy shit do I wish they would do my ideas for Lego games, which they have done a bit of in LotR and Clone Wars. I also want to see Legos torture and murder each other, and I DO NOT want them speaking anything comprehensible. I want to crucify Lego dissidents for the glory of my Lego empire. I want to massacre entire cultures that happened to be in my way. Kids would eat that shit up because kids like edge, and parents generally don't give a fuck anymore what their children play. How would an E/E10+ FPS fair, do you think? Lego Sims-clone?

I'm missing the majority of non Bionicle flash games, like Exo-Force, Lego City and Creator. If you have any of the Mars Mission games, they would be greatly appreciated.

>I replayed the complete saga not so long ago and I was shocked at how badly it had held up.
Playing the complete saga was the problem here. It opens with some of the worst levels on offer and one of the worst hubs (in my opinion). Do yourself a favor and play through the video game, rather than the complete saga. It's far more entertaining.
Only played the first Bionicle flash game, an Alpha Team flash (I think), and the Star Wars prequel trilogy on the Gamecube. Granted, when it comes to the latter, I really don't like Star Wars as a series anymore; haven't in years. But I always thought that the force mechanic as a concept perfectly integrated with the deconstruction/reconstruction aspect, in a way that the premise for most later licensed Lego games never quite struck me as doing. While I know not every character could use it, I think the "mind over matter" part, that the character had a vision of exactly how they wanted it to look and didn't even have to touch the bricks to implement it, was the key factor.

>My Favorite always has and always will be MNOG.
It wasn't much of a "game" (well, any more than most point and click adventures, anyhow), but it did a great job not only helping to build up a world behind the actual sets of the time, but also letting the player feel involved in it. Heard the second flash was a complete mess, which strikes me as a shame.

>lego racers
my absolute favourite(though I might be nostalgiafagging since it was one of my first games ever). Still play through it every couple of months(it takes like an afternoon). great soundtrack, great classic themes, great pace. only problems are 10IQ opponents and weird car handling

I haven't completed it but it's a surprisingly enjoyable title. From a merely mechanical standpoint, it's honestly pretty good, however it doesn't really feel like an arcade racer nor does it feel too much like a kart racer. I don't think it really knows what it wants to be, the closest game I can compare it to would be Blur.
There's plenty of activities you can complete around each of the several maps, most of them are challenging enough but nothing too grueling at first glance, at least early on. Racing is actually surprisingly challenging and rival AI is always at your toes, pretty much forcing you to rely on items in many cases.
Vehicle building would be great if it wasn't littered with micro-transactions and dependent on an online connection to even get some kits. Story wise, it follows all the same cues from the post Lego Movie era and its surprisingly funny and even witty.
>>393
I think so as well, not that I particularly prefer one to the other too much but 2 definitely has more meat on its bones, 1 is a charming title on its own right but a lot of the praise is nostalgia based and unlike say, Rock Raiders, it doesn't hold up as well as other classic Lego titles.

Do you ever picture a specific place when you think of LEGO? Something idealized or nostalgic that makes building more exciting for you, personally.
Whenever I think of old System sets from 2006 and earlier, I always come back to the mental image of a small, cozy living room during the winter. Incandescent lights, carpeted floor, wooden furniture - just the kind of place I was at when I was young and first got into LEGO. It might sound weird, maybe pretentions, but I find that the ambience around you can be an important factor when you're delving into your imagination.

For me it's a few things. This sort of storage box for one. It's made of thick blow molded plastic so it hard but cushy at the same time. I toted this thing around all the time as a kid. I've still got mine somewhere. I need to retrieve it.
Another thing is these base plates for the pirates sets. The Pirates were my favorite themed sets as a kid, even more than Space which I loved. I always had a thing for tropical stuff. I always wanted to collect a bunch of them and make a big Lego sea with islands and beaches. Maybe I still will at some point.

Just the line you'd need for a long trip. Used to enjoy these on car trips as well.
>>1417
It feels that much more legit when you have a box just for it, doesn't it?
I also loved incorporatiing the ambience itself into the builds, such as the designs on the carpet, the design of shelves, etc.

I's say the best one is the one I posted in the OP, the Farnsworth House. It's scale is good enough that it includes a lot of interior detail. It's just about exactly half scale for normal Lego builds to accept minifigs. I'v actually thought about making my own "full scale" version but I'm not certain how to go about starting that. The model is roughly accurate to the colors of the real Farnsworth House so I'd need a lot of white and beige bricks and some clear window bricks as well.
>>826
Same, I like the idea of these "scale model" sets and think they'd be fine if they coexisted with traditional play-oriented sets. The issue is nearly every fucking set is either an action figure or one of these "scale models" that you can maybe play with once and shove onto a shelf because it's not designed to be rebuilt, like that stupid fucking Mario theme. At least with Architecture you can still buy a pile of the white Architecture element set and do stuff on your own.
