My bad, wasn't sure if you had some VPN shenanigans going on or not.
>On V's Chapter 3, do you really think it was a good thing in the long run?
I think it's been a double edged sword. It's good that Blanc has remained relatively popular among fans, but at the same time it's attracted a lot of fans who don't appreciate her for who she is. The absolute worse is when she's put into the hands of incompetent writers who want to get the same effect as her arc in V without understanding any of the context. The two biggest offenders are in RB1 and the anime.
>RB1
So, this was one of the parts of HDN that was completely re-written in the remake. In HDN a lot of Lowee's arc, when it wasn't concentrated on Neptune's efforts to befriend and placate Blanc, was focused on relations between the Guild which was a support organization for people who didn't worship the goddess of the nation they were born in, which were referred to as heretics, and the country at large. There was an extremist faction that tried to overthrow Blanc after she or her government so graciously took those heretics in as refugees after Leanbox tried to purge them IIRC.
RB1 decided to replace all of that with a fake Blanc. Even using the fake to explain the five seconds of initial hostility shown to Neptune's party. And then when Financier takes them to Blanc's inner circle to meet the real deal, Blanc ends up crying as she petitions help in reclaiming her nation. Completely and utterly unearned, not even close to the rock bottom situation she found herself in V. Absolutely out of character. The whole point of her arc in V was that Blanc was nearly unbreakable and you had to put her at absolute rock bottom just to get her to crack. And even in tears she was still ready to fight and resist to the bitter end.

I hate episode 2. What a dogshit story. I get that she cares about her sisters, but absolutely rolling over for mother fucking Abnes just so Neptune can have her stupid moment to swoop in and save her? Bull fucking shit. Once again, totally out of character, the writers just didn't understand her at all and just wanted to milk those tears and make the audience feel bad for her. Those are the most egregious examples of how chapter 3 negatively impacted Blanc, but thankfully it hasn't gotten quite that bad since. Her characterization in VII and SVS were both a lot more on point. I can buy Blanc showing her softer side to her sisters more, and I can buy her shedding tears after not seeing them for two whole years. And I can buy her completely giving up in the failed timeline where Arfoire possessed Rom. Although even her present day self chastised herself for being that "weak." Poor thing...
>But then again, apparently SvS's marketing was very confused as to whether it was supposed to be a spin-off or a mainline, probably because it was the first high-profile Neptunia game in a while.
It had a lot of effort put into it and the premise immediately placed it in the mainline continuity. But unfortunately the game kinda Sonic 06'd itself by the end from what I understand. And the game is just really dark for Neptunia. It gets more fucked up when you consider the possibility that UD likely hadn't experienced any time resets which is why the portal closed off to begin with. Imagine how much time has passed for UD while Future Maho repeatedly reset the timeline over the span of years.
But I digress. It seemed like CH wasn't terribly confident in the game so they branded it an "orthodox spinoff" in Japan, and even then that was kinda buried in a blog. I'm assuming "orthodox spinoff" means "it's in the main continuity, but it's still a spinoff."
