So, the idea is that we work on Re;Birth 2 translation in preparation of the shit fest that will be Re;Birth 3 when it get's released on PC.
Since there isn't a lot of stuff that are outright bad in Re;Birth 2, retranslating it should be relatively easy compared to if we ever are going to attempt to retranslate Re;Birth 3.
Mostly it's just Neptunes dialog that's need to be fixed in Re;Birth 2 and to a lesser extent RAMs.

Speaking from experience (pics related), I dunno what's left to do. RB2 and RB3 could use another pass but that's not on the horizon anymore with the old group. Things happen.

If anyone modern wants a go, it shouldn't be nearly as godawful today as it was back 10 years ago. Tools are just so much better now than they were in the original Re;Translation days, and the JP script is availible with the game itself. I suppose there's an instituional loss of information about some the weirdness with the game engine, but most of it is documented here. and in similar pinned threads. The main hurdle is figuring out Neptools (which replaced Kitserver). There's a few interesting undocumented features. Also maybe replacing the "new" font is in order...

But there's not much going on with the series other than CH re-releasing Re;Birth every fifteen minutes so there's not much to worry about. There might be some stuff in a year or two but unless something interesting happens...I mean, what was the last Nep game anyone was excited for? 4GO? The Canadian RPG?

Better than being on /vg/.
By a long shot.
Or most of 4cuck for that matter.

I checked back on /v/ just to see what the cucklands are doing right now, and there are literally 20 switch 2 threads. Mostly people crying about it being successful because they're pinning self-worth to the success or failure of a video game console. I think anyone smart enough to seek greener pastures "deserves" inheriting them.

I ordered a PS Vita (my PC is a toaster and I don't have other consoles) and I'd be interested in checking out this series by starting with Re;Birth 1, but I'd first like to get to know some things in advance.
-What's the ratio of story/gameplay?
-Is the gameplay engaging and challenging?
-Are there branching endings and other things I need a guide for?
-How much fanservice is there? (Asking from pro-fanservice angle)
-Does it have hard Japanese? (I want to play it in Japanese)
-Does it really have "fourth-wall-breaking, trope-demolishing dialogue" as the Steam description says? (Asking from angle where I would find that potentially cringe)
-Is the experience gimped by not getting certain game industry references, etc etc?
-How do the following entries compare to the first game?
-Other things that I should know?
(Picture unrelated)

Despite this board being dead, i'm in the mood to vent about my current playthrough, so i'm answering this anyway.

>-Is the gameplay engaging and challenging?
Pretty even. I often do quests or grind for plans in between multiple cutscenes.
>-Are there branching endings and other things I need a guide for?
There's a share mechanic that you need to manipulate for some resources can lead to two different endings afaik.
>-Is the gameplay engaging and challenging?
It's so so. Combat can be tactical and positioning is very important, still most of it boils down to spamming attacks on tanky bosses.
>-How much fanservice is there? (Asking from pro-fanservice angle)
What you see is what you get. The designs are sexy and there is lots of innuendo, no out there CGs as of yet.
>-Does it really have "fourth-wall-breaking, trope-demolishing dialogue" as the Steam description says? (Asking from angle where I would find that potentially cringe)
I'd say it's more chuuni than 4th wall breaking. It's self-deprecating cringe.
>-Is the experience gimped by not getting certain game industry references, etc etc?
Sometimes, but how could you not know petit charat from the hit franchise digi charat?

I haven't played the game yet. But I actually happened to get a PS3 (aside from the Vita), so I wonder whether I should play the original games or Re;Birth. I have heard that the gameplay, particularly the battles, were radically changed, but I don't know whether these changes were for the better or not, and whether there were other changes.

Also I was surprised to see a bunch of new posts/threads when checking the board now. Was it because of the 4kids incident?

Haven't played the games for myself, but I have seen people advising that you play the original Neptunia on the PS3 first because of how the character progression there is the basis for everything afterwards (Including the remakes).
>>8070
I would recommend playing 2010 as well. The story is different enough and the gameplay is quite different. I prefer it to Re;Birth 1 in spite of all its issues. That said though most of the problems I have with it are how it runs on original hardware. The healing system is really only a negative in the very early game too despite the complaints it gets.

Since Idea Factory/Compile Heart games always had a strong presence on the Vita back in the day, figured I'd make a thread for it. I'm in the process of updating the 8chan Vita chart, and if you have any recommendations you can write for the games not currently on it, I'd appreciate it.
If you feel that games like Hyperdevotion Noire, Producing Perfection, Action U Unleashed, Blanc v. Zombies, Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls, or any other Idea Factory/Compile Heart game on the Vita (or Vita game in general) are worth recommending, say something about it and I'll put it in.

How do you work around the PSM DRM?
So, for whatever reason, NoPayStation and PKGj no longer function when downloading or installing PSM games. I did manage to find a repository of PSM games saved to Myrient however (Which include many more games than you can find on listed on NPS and PKGj): https://myrient.erista.me/files/No-Intro/Sony%20-%20PlayStation%20Mobile%20%28PSN%29/
But this brings me forward to my current problem. I cannot get these games installed. I managed to unpack them with pkg2zip, transferred them to my device, and they are showing up on the LiveArea, but I cannot actually load them because opening a game requires that I activate them through PSN. I already have NoPSMDRM installed, and have been using it to play PSM games prior to this for years. In addition, I tried rebuilding the database through ONEMenu, but it still requires that I activate the games. What am I doing wrong?
As a side note, I'm doing this on a Vita TV, and have a USB drive as my storage device.

<Sequels to two fan-favourite PS Vita games were in development before the budget for both games was diverted to PlayStation 4 development.
<That’s according to former SIE president Shuhei Yoshida, who this week revealed that the sequels were in development, but ultimately scrapped as Sony transitioned from focusing on the cult-favourite handheld to putting its resources behind the PS4.
<Speaking on Sacred Symbols+, Yoshida said: “We were actually working on Soul Sacrifice 2 and Freedom Wars 2, but because of budget limitation we had to stop and move on to PS4.”
<Yoshida also claimed that the move to PS4 is the main reason that more Sony first-party IP didn’t receive a PS Vita iteration, in the same style as Sony Bend’s Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
<Freedom Wars was originally developed by Dimps and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. While a niche hit in the West, the game was far more popular in Japan, achieving the second-highest opening s

Compile Heart and IFI are trying Eastasiasoft for Asia-English versions of the canceled Neptunia Re;Birth Switch ports. Personally, I've already bought them on PC (GOG) and now see no reason to double-dip here and support Nintendo's persecution of Japanese expression. The LE goods aren't enticing, either. Even if this allows the ports to succeed, it's only a short-term victory because Compile Heart are still being incentivized against making content that would force them to do workarounds to sell like this, and that's as long as the workaround even works; Nintendo could easily just update their Asia guidelines and start shooting these down, too. They've shown they're capable of it, going out of their way to persecute Japanese cultural expressions for no reason other than that they can, acting as a tool of BlackRock and globohomo writ large to undermine and destroy alternatives to the "modern audience" goyslop future they have in mind. Denying these games for "brand risk" reasons yet platforming shit like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Shadows which is the single most controversial game in Japan in recent memory for violating several

To err on the safe side, only skin-covered ones. I feel non skin-colored skinsuits these days fall in the "safe horny" camp, especially when they're used to censor characters/outfits that showed skin previously, similar to leggings (such as 2nd pic related and the usual redditards writing apologia about how it's better than the original design).

>For Wii, you can add Manhunt 2. A game so graphic and violent that it initially received an AO rating and had to be censored to get it to M. Even the censored version still got banned in several countries (Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand and South Korea). As far as I know, the Wii version did not receive any additional censorship.
I have looked into Manhunt 2 previously, and the Wii version is now the least censored version of all the "official" releases. There was previously the full uncensored AO version of the game that you could buy digitally for PC, but it's no longer available. Outside of that, there's also the PS2 beta version that is both uncensored and retains some exclusive content that is missing from the PC/Wii release (But still present in the official PS2/PSP release).

However I'm hesitant to add a game "just" for it's violence because that mostly gets a pass from these companies. And the last time the industry came together "collectively" to demand censorship of a game because of it's violent content was regarding Hatred, and Thrill Kill prior to that.

There are some games that Nintendo seems to have banned or censored specifically for their violence, such as Christmas Massacre, Gungrave G.O.R.E., and Death end re;Quest Code Z. But I mainly bring up Manhunt 2 as a contrast to how the industry handled its controversy versus how they handle the controversies of games like Omega Labyrinth Z. Manhunt 2 getting banned in sveral countries did not cause anyone to change their policies. So then why did Sony apparently decide to moralfag over Omega Labyrinth Z? If they could shrug off Manhunt 2's controversy, they should have been able to shrug off Omega Labyrinth Z. Just because Bongistan called it CP doesn't mean everyone else thinks that's what it is, even in Bongistan itself, or that it should be banned everywhere, or Australia would be dictating what everyone gets and I'm pretty sure no one agrees with that.

Resident Evil 4 being a timed Gamecube-exclusive is an example. The first two Death end re;Quest games on Switch, while not as violent as Code Z, are also examples. Puppet Combo specializes in graphic, edgy games including one called Nun Massacre with religious themes tossed in for good measure and they had no issues releasing on Switch until Christmas Massacre got blocked all of a sudden. And of course, the Grand Theft Auto games. Which modern Nintendo will only certainly give a pass just because they're AAA games, but it and stuff like Cyberpunk 2077 and Ass Creed Niggers can be used as an example of Nintendo giving blatant passes to high-clout games that lower-clout ones wouldn't get.

You're referring to the original HDN, right? If so, alas, I'm not much help here. I intend to play it eventually, but I imagine it will be a while down the road.
I have no idea if this is the best way to go about it but I usually just stick to the pre-set sword, hand to hand and gun routes and set attacks from least powerful to most powerful. I usually put transformation attacks on the last triangle attack and combo link on the last circle and cross attacks. Never had any trouble with this setup.

I don't think this is a good way to do it. If it's anything like the later games, every combo attack you use adds to your wait time, so you should set your strongest attacks first in line so you can kill the enemy faster and not have to use as many moves.
