Post suggestions to improve the board if you have any. Also a thread for questions or posts that don't need their own thread. Keep it tangentially /animu/ related and ignore people who complain about other boards or bring board drama here. Beyond that, archive everything you care about. You never know when /animu/ servers will be vore'd by a giant Miku Risa.

Ah, I take it that's a no then? Not actually sincere about removing the off-topic crap, but apparently you have no problem removing a harmless post that references it? Or do you consider a post referencing off-topic crap to be "trolling" now? You're sending mixed messages here.

Video games, Japanese politics, stream whores, etc. are not anime and manga. This has been a problem with /animu/ for a long time, and it really kills motivation to come here and discuss anime and manga when you expect it's going to get lost in a sea of off-topic crap.

>>115815
What's the warning exactly? You're going to start banning people for critiquing moderation? "Starting something" is not the basis for a consistent rule. If you don't want anons to engage in a particular behavior you should communicate it with a clear and consistently enforceable rule. "No trolling" is just as bad and has led to rampant abuse on every image board since 2ch.

>"No trolling" is just as bad and has led to rampant abuse on every image board since 2ch.
>DON'T RESIST, GOYIM!!
<why do they hate me so!?
Sounds a lot like kike doublethink to me. Just stay on top of the moderation, and it's a minor issue. Ignoring trolls, or avoiding the banhammer on them is what creates "rampant abuse", imo.

Wisdom in all things is the goal (if difficult to achieve...still it's the goal to strive towards).

True, except for video games, as many of those are in fact trying to be anime and manga. If we had GTA discussions that'd be a different issue, but we don't.
Also, I'm not gonna nuke half a board right of the bat. Jap politics and vtumors will stay as fossils, unless they prove problematic. Right now they see zero engagement, so they're a non issue, unlike vtumor thread on something like smuglo.li's /a/.
>What's the warning exactly? You're going to start banning people for critiquing moderation? "Starting something" is not the basis for a consistent rule.
The basis is starting pointless drama (under the pretense of "critiquing moderation") which falls right under "off topic".
I can see what posts you made, and aside for 3 posts about schmups you seem very eager to engage in pointless arguments or just whine in general. You don't seem to be actually interested in talking about chinese cartoons. If you want a place to only complain about things, then find another imageboard. Or you can prove me wrong and make posts about jap cartoons you actually liked.

>I can see the posts you made...
1) No, you actually can't see all the posts I've made.
2) Your attempt to triangulate my posting habits and personality through information only you have amounts to hostility to anonymous posting and you should be very careful when you deploy this. Most especially important to treat anonymity with respect on a small board with a dwindling user base.
3) As I stated, it's awfully demotivating every time I come here to try and talk animu and then have my attempts at conversation immediately buried by off-topic crap. I'm sure there have been many tired posters who feel similarly.

Anywho, you'll notice every one of my posts in this thread has been both supportive of one aspect of moderation (topicality) and critical of another ("no trolling" and any other such vague, inconsistent rules that require you to read minds to know poster intent. In the entire history of image boards these have only ever functioned to entrench janny abuse). You can apply dismissive labels to it if you like, but you started a thread about moderation and shouldn't be at all surprised if some of the responses are critical in nature. The topic of this thread is clearly moderation and in context my posts have been topical and relevant. If you have a problem with discussion of moderation being off-topic for the whole board, then start by nuking your own thread. It's abundantly clear from this discussion that my problem is with topicality for the whole board, so please don't attempt any kind of lame appeal to hypocrisy on me.

>you have to like something to talk about it
Also, come on now.
>>115824
>every time I come here to try and talk animu
And no, by "here" I did not just mean trashchan, I did mean prohlikewhoa too.

I do feel like the further removed we became from 8ch, the more off-topic stuff started to crowd out animu discussion. That's probably a function of general declining poster activity magnifying the off-topic stuff though. Which arguably turns it into a nasty positive feedback loop.

No, I'm not a Eurofag or in need of air conditioning. Your geriatric president single-handedly activated every Canadian's baby boomer's anti-American talmudvision programming by antagonizing them at the worst possible time, and flipped our election from a near-guaranteed Conservative win (seriously, the polls were crazy: despite total government control of the media, a majority of the population was demanding forced deportations) into extreme infinity pajeet hell. You now have the second largest country in the world visibly falling apart right above your heads, and its sheer size and proximity to the Arctic Circle means it will create a massive power vacuum when it's gone. A power vacuum that its neighbours across the Arctic Circle, in China, and across the oceans will feel very keenly and want to fill. You talk to Canadians IRL about almost anything, and it very quickly becomes obvious that they're semi-consciously know they're in a collapsing state and are in denial, or they openly speak about it unbidden.

Despite your government's retardation (and your post's utter obliviousness to what it was born out of), I don't take it out on Americans. Most Americans I meet IRL are wonderful, genuinely friendly people in a way that the so-called polite Canadian is not, and I am not going to begrudge them for posting big-titted, American anime girls on the Fourth of July.

Post about things you enjoy already, homo. You yourself tell people that providing good word of mouth for media "works every single time." By your own reasoning, it is more effective than what you currently do. Do that instead. If you can't even manage that, and instead waste your life sperging at others and getting banned, everyone will see you as a sad hypocrite who doesn't practice what he preaches. Or worse, someone who gets angry at other people because they practice what he preaches better than he does.

This isn't quite as ass-backwards as saying that America is an anti-European philosophy state, but it's similarly oblivious. There's a big difference that's very hard to ignore if you live here.
You can keep your head up your ass as much as you like and pretend the situation is the same as early Trudeau-era Canada. You can tell yourself the Leafs "refuse to fix it" as its provinces negotiate with foreign powers and each other instead of the feds. You can pretend the Leafs are totally depending on a landslide Conservative election while provinces actively defy any federal laws or taxes they don't like. You can even insist that the Alberta seperation referendum in two months is a nothingburger, as if the province won't just continue its course of seizing as much independence as it possibly can. I guess you can do all this, but at some point you have to ask yourself why.
Nobody is really counting on an election at this point. The country is probably either about to collapse, splinter, or so thoroughly reshape itself that it becomes something else. The Leaf of today lives with that knowledge somewhere inside him, and what he does with it is up to him.

That I think is one of the few things that will begin fixing your country, Albert and Quebec seceding. Not a "Conservative" winning the election after hearing other leafs bang on for years that the Conservative Party is unironically retarded in the most literal tense possible. And especially when you guys refuse to acknowledge that parliaments are designed to fail every fucking time, yet you still have one just keep those "European roots" and insist that you can somehow "unfuck" the situation that a parliament causes.

Eh, guess I shouldn't have sperged about this. It's just unfortunately common among Leafs IRL nowadays. Random Canadians just spontaneously erupt into this stuff if something activates it. There's boomer politics larp, and then there's "Shit, my country is collapsing. What the fuck am I doing with my life?" as a reoccuring normalfag conversation topic. When you're at that stage, something is happening.
It's extremely strange to live through. It's not blackpilling, despite what niggerpill might think. It's just something you either live in denial of or adapt to.
>>116055
>That I think is one of the few things that will begin fixing your country, Albert and Quebec seceding
A lot of the other things I brought up are all intertwined with that in some way: the provinces are increasingly claiming more control for themselves, and the federal government is visibly losing control of the situation. Last I heard, it can't even get its own postal service to cooperate with its failure of a gun buyback program. It's also common knowledge that every native reservation has a fuckton of automatic weapons that the federal government pretends to ignore because it doesn't want to be racist. There are also outposts if you go far north enough that are obviously Chinese military, Chinese variants of otherwise banned firearms took noticeably longer to be banned, and China "accidentally" shipped incendiary tracer rounds to our largest sporting goods store for several years (related fun fact: we supposedly have more guns per person than Americans do).
In relation to the above, have a Space Moose comic.

No, he's just threatening to remove people who disagree with him. Need look no further than the animu game thread were only a certain individual (Who just so happened to disagree with him) was removed, not the sperg who went nuclear and upended the entire prior discussion (Until the hypocrisy was point out on the site's /meta/ board, where the guy had no power to ban dissent).

>/animu/ first started as a direct opposite of /a/'s authoritarian nature that anything "not strictly anime"
And it died because it devolved into only NON-anime sperging.

We all know its you by this point
>not the sperg who went nuclear and upended the entire prior discussion (Until the hypocrisy was point out on the site's /meta/ board, where the guy had no power to ban dissent).
Translation: anon was so salty for getting banned he brought his drama to the /meta/ board, where he whined enough that he got banned there as well, lmao.

Also
>its him
>he's back
You're utterly uninterested in talking about anime related things, none of your recent posts had anything to do with any show/manga/game/creator (and by recent I mean last week or so). The only change is that you started adding anime pictures to your usual drivel. Seriously, there's dedicated boards for politi-sperging, GO THERE.

>I get that, as long as you're good with anime discussions getting sidetracked into tangential stuff that isn't necessarily Japanese (which I find can be really interesting and flesh out what I get from anime).
Obviously yes, like the anime research thread (>>115905)

For the record, that wasn't a warning to just the schizo, but everyone else who got dragged into "discussing" things with it as well, like the fucking leaf for example. But the leaf regularly posted about anime, and didn't try to antagonize everyone on sight.

>a certain individual
Who stated his intent to continue shitting up the thread indefinitely, and got told to fuck off from /meta/.
This is entering pathological liar territory. I don't care what your baby boomer self help books tell you about self-affirmation, just stop lying. You aren't even doing this about threads from several months ago anymore, but events several days old in active threads anons still post in. It's pitiful to anyone outside yourself, and backfires so hard at convincing people that it becomes part of this larger pattern of self-sabotage which you repeat over and over.
Ask yourself: if you lie so blatantly, and outright tell anons you'll make their lives hell for not living exactly the way you want them to, why should anyone trust you? You don't even do this to true enemies, but people in the same community who often agree with you on almost everything important, yet weight their priorities slightly differently. Ironically for a supposed libertarian, you evidently won't accept any world where people think, act, talk, or purchase in any way even slightly different from yourself, and would rather see everything around you go up in flames than see a world that achieve your goals in a slightly different way than you would.

I want to be wrong about you. I want to see you (as an anon) actually do well and achieve a lot of what you're supposedly interested in, instead of sabotaging yourself like this and painting a massive target on yourself as the schizo who only attacks his own allies. When you mentioned participating in the Anime you finished thread, it briefly warmed my heart a little. Then you doubled back, and now we're back to this shit again. It sucks.

Yeah, sorry about that. Living through this leaf shit and seeing how it affects those around me just gets to me sometimes, and being both a leaf and a sperg doesn't help. The IRL situation up here has really made a lot sink in about how important it is to have real connections with your family and neighbours, even though you won't always agree perfectly, along with the importance of having actual skills you can help others with instead of just being a wageslave who buys everything.

NTA. Well-put, humility goes a loong way. Stay strong Leaf-bro.
Together, we're all gonna make it.

Looks like I'll have to play whack-a-mole with that shitter.
Please don't engage, just report and hide next time he (it) drops another wall of text. It will get bored of getting deleted and ignored eventually.

Also, one other anon might've gotten a 0 second long ban by accident, so if its you, sorry.

Will do.

Nprb. Thanks for all your hard work.

Also made this thread bumplocked, since it doesn't need to be on page 1 all the time, and I worry it might behave like /monster/'s meta threads which always attracted the worst schizos and caused the most issues.
And because people refuse to learn to sage, but whatever.
What did /animu/ have for a spoiler image again? I know you can replace spoilers on jschan with an edit like this:
cursor: help;
background-image: url(/asset/animu/[spoilerurl].png);

Spoiler File

You mean this spoil?
That's just ** on both sides of the thing you want to spoiler.
And you can spoiler pics from the post gui.
But I'm guessing you have some different issue.

Also, fugg, I just realised I didn't paste the full CSS for changing the image spoiler if you ever want to do that.
.spoilerimg {
  cursor:help;
  background-image:url(/asset/mecha/[spoilerurl].png)
}
Here's the old spoiler as it was, and here's the file I ripped from the internet archive.

Ok, seems I don't have the power to change it, so we'll have to wait for BO to do it.
The second code snippet works though, so its a simple copy paste.

I volunteer the Berserk one though. Let's make something new.
