Yeah nice touch. In some ways -- unusually -- this animu is an improvement on the mango. I hope they continue this pattern for the Sophomore Season.

Why Robowaifu?

Most of the world's modern women have failed their men and their societies, feminism is rampant, and men around the world have been looking for a solution. History shows there are cultural and political solutions to this problem, but we believe that technology is the best way forward at present – specifically the technology of robotics. We are technologists, dreamers, hobbyists, geeks and robots looking forward to a day when any man can build the ideal companion he desires in his own home. However, not content to wait for the future; we are bringing that day forward. We are creating an active hobbyist scene of builders, programmers, artists, designers, and writers using the technology of today, not tomorrow. Join us!

For the past year, I have been working on my own robowaifu design. Her name is Galatea v3.0. The design is very easy to build with the instructions and files, and is relatively very cheap, less than $400 to make. It's also very customizable, you can choose the color, dress, hair, and even AI.

I intend this to be the Model T of humanoid robots and robotic companions, while it is not the most complex, it is easy to mass produce and cheap.

>I'm reading through your instructions, and they're great.
Thank you!

>They're probably loaded with spyware though, and they never get updates so they'd probably get hacked very quickly, so those should never be connected to the internet or cell towers.
I don't connect mine to the cell network, and I only use them on absolutely-trusted password protected networks. I personally factory reset them as well, though that seemingly doesn't change anything on the phone.

>It's good to know about UV wands too. I hadn't heard of those before.
It really does feel like something from Star Trek TNG. They're really useful, both for disinfecting, and for having a robot easily clean things. Some commercial medical robots use UV-C light

>The eyes are the part that seem most off. It seems like it would be better if those could be inside the head, though the shape of the heard makes it difficult.
The shape of the display lends itself to a goggles-like shape. I tried to make them not stick out too much, but at the same time not just have a canyon where the eyes are.

>Any thoughts on flexible/bendable displays? There's a $30 Bluetooth enabled one on Amazon (HOIOS). It's not battery-powered, but it's easy to find small and cheap battery packs.

This, but things are a bit more dynamic than that, IMO. Onboard, she'll need to be running her 'Brain'(C3) systems on smol devices -- SBCs & MCUs, etc. Anon's home servers could run on most anything, as long as they never, NEVER, NEVER need to go online (after construction). At least that's how I envision things.

Obviously, these are going to be very-complex systems of hardware & software (both inboard & outboard our robowaifus). Much prototyping is still yet to be done to tweak all this properly. Cheers, Kiwi. :^)

That's important to note. It's cool to see the shiny new multimodal AI, but if you want to have an inbuilt computer, you're going to need an AI model small enough to fit on a raspberry pi, best case scenario on a Jetson Nano. (Or a smartphone like me and Barf from Alogs)

Chii thinks, therefore Chii is.
Cognition is a complex, nuanced process of comprehension and thought, with context of oneself. Cognitive architecture is the study of artificial cognition and its creation. Here are some aspects of a cognitive system to focus on.
Sentience: Ability to experience sensations, feelings provide environmental context. Her sensors communicate states internal and external to her. This can also include emotional perception, involving Sentiment Analysis, Facial Expression Recognition, prosodic speech analysis, etc…
Self-awareness: Capacity to differentiate the self from external actors and objects. When presented with a mirror, echo, or other self referential sensory input, she can recognize herself. This may also include self perception, including contextual awareness of her emotions, goals, personality, etc..
Sapience: Continual process of obtaining and utilizing wisdom. Linking concepts and meanings with context of experience. This can include perception of what is lacking. For example, your robot could realize she lacks some quality needed to reach her goal of inducing you to smile before sleeping to improve your health. She would then apply the knowledge she has to devise a plan to obtain a method of inducing that smile. Over time, she will recognize other factors that affect her method, altering her approach as she gains wisdom to meet your needs in the moment.
These building blocks integrate and allow her to be m

4cuck. I'm personally of the opinion it's a pre-release insider leak. A 'toe in the water' gauging of interest. So much pozz in all the major platforms (including DS, which stole inherited from closedai's. At least DS has now released the weights for R3 : ( >>158 )).

This is actually used, part of why context length is valuable. Unfortunately, once context lengths breach a threshold, the LLM will slow down, and eventually start talking nonsense. It's a great start though.

>Just now realizing how odd my statement was. I do need one for research as compatibility with such things would add value to many a man with tired hands. :^)
It's funny because it sounds like the meme phrase, and the humor comes from that it's not an odd question here. I actually do also want to see some examples from Greentext anon.

>Could you provide some information on standards? I'm still new to this concept and all these sizes and styles seem wild to me. I'd like to integrate her design with a simple interface that works with popular toys.
Unfortunately, in my research, there doesn't seem to be a unified system. Maybe Greentext anon knows about a product I don't know about. That's why I like the Pringles can type, because Pringles cans have unchanging dimensions shared across an entire brand.

>Naturally, a hard shell is preferred for a 3D printed design to grab onto without interfering with delicate...procedures.
Agreed. I'm an ardent believer in hard-shell designs. Plus you can even put things like handlebars.

Heh, just teasing bro.

>Could you provide some information on standards?
I would be surprised if there was such. Likely, the best bet for this is make a rough-guesstimate based on the highest-sales manufacturer's "standards" (again, if even they have any), then accomodate that in your docking/cartridge system. Variations should be manageable with interior adaptors to your basic system.
>Naturally, a hard shell is preferred for a 3D printed design to grab onto without interfering with delicate...procedures.
Good thinking. Find the most-popular models that offer that feature.
>>613
>and the humor comes from that it's not an odd question here.
Humor is but one of the many highly-complex parts of the human soul we all need to study for our robowaifu's behaviors. I think it would make long Winter nights go better if our waifus could crack good jokes here & there (but not too much! cf. Interstellar)

>Plus you can even put things like handlebars.

Top kek. Smart Anons will add optional handlebar addons for their robowaifu designs! :DD

She would be a wonderful choice, GreerTech, agreed. I had never considered that idea before. She would certainly be a surefire hit on the Internets as well (she was every Anon's 'little sister' at the height of her popularity)! :D

OTOH, IMO she's simply too tall to use as the first model. Hmm. Maybe she would be good choice between Sumomo-chan & Chii-chan, sizewise? I'll give that some thought Anon, thanks.

Meantime thanks for cute Yotsuba daughteru pics! Cheers. :^)

I would estimate off the cuff it should be about 3.5'-4' in height? so more than double Sumomo-chan in height, & ~3x her volume/mass.
Replies: >>609
>>608
That's a good goal. For reference, Galatea is 4'2", and she's a robo-wife.

>so more than double Sumomo-chan in height
That's an understatement, at 3.5', she would be 7 times the height of Sumomo-chan (6" according to the wiki)
Replies: >>616
>>609
>Galatea is 4'2", and she's a robo-wife.
Our intended follow-on for dear Sumomo-chan is (was?) meant to be a rendition of Chii-chan, who should be 145cm+ in height (so, 4' 9"+). So, that seems pretty similar to dear Galatea.

>That's an understatement
Oops. My apologies, I meant the realworld one coming to be, not the fictional one. So, 18"-24" -ish.
