At the moment, yes. Someone from the sharty hacked their way into admin access, and the admins shut down the board servers in response. The site is still accessible, but it loads extremely slowly, long threads won't completely load, and posting is impossible. It's basically frozen outside of seemingly /qa/ which the sharty deliberately brought back as a stunt.

Then I guess me shilling this board worked out after all. If you can, get the others on here too. There's a non-zero chance 4Chan won't come back from this, and even if it does, it's clear we need to have fallbacks now. And I doubt 8Chan /v/ is a good fit for us with how twitchy Mark's ban finger has become. Unfortunate that most of the refugees seem to be going there.

There is no real way for me to do that, I'm afraid. Anyways, the retranslation mod seems interesting, I don't mind the original Rebirth's translations, but I've always felt that Neptune seems to be seen differently by Japanese and ((( western ))) fans. Been wanting to replay either RB2 or RB3 at some point in the near future.
Blanc doesn't seem to suffer that as much.

Fuck. I guess I'll try throwing up SOS's on 8chan boards. The retranslation mod here is from a decade ago or more. Incredibly. Hardly anyone wanted to localize it to begin with, and when they started there were people already pushing to censor it. I'm still salty that Burst only released physically in PAL regions, but my 3DS is hacked and I was able to add it to my collection regardless, so I can't complain anymore.

I had considered getting a New 3DS (XL) to homebrew or have someone else homebrew because of that and the DLC for Deep Crimson, but that's a major investment, and I already have a major backlog already. Burst is also technically on Steam already as Burst Re;Newal, but a lot of Senranfags swear by the original Burst over its remake.

Why not hack the 3DS you presumably have already? It's a very simple process and there's a site to walk you through it. That said, I went with the regular sized N3DS. Kicking myself for missing the boat on UV printed faceplates, though. I still want to plaster Blanc all over my handhelds... the best I can do now is a decal...
>Burst is also technically on Steam already as Burst Re;Newal, but a lot of Senranfags swear by the original Burst over its remake.
I wouldn't know since I skipped the remake. That was the start of the bad times.

3DS BC was terrible because of non-integer scaling. I've actually experimented with alternate filters for 3DS BC, and lemme tell you there's no happy medium. Either it's blurry as hell or you get a metric ton of shimmering. That said, I play my DS games on a modded V5 fat.

A lot of work clearly went into its presentation. I'm not inherently opposed to more minimalist aesthetic, but it should amount to something. If you're going to cut back on presentation, it should be to improve functionality or something else. The Switch e-shop is a mess to browse thanks to all the lag and lack of filters, and it doesn't even have nice music and aesthetics to make it more bearable like the 3DS. Themes are also something that people have been begging to come back, but Nintendo just won't give for some reason.
>>7478
>Why not hack the 3DS you presumably have already?
It has a decade or more of gaming time and memories on it. I don't want to risk that, even if the risk is small.

Those were the only thing it had over the original DS, but even those had issues because the circlepad would easily break off if you did anything strenuous like play Smash.

Replacing the stick is relatively simple, you just need to open up the bottom portion of your 3DS. IIRC it may even be just a matter of swapping the plastic stick itself, the way the circle pad is designed.

>>7486
Considering your device is likely at least a decade old and well past any official support, wear and tear unfortunately happens and the glue Nintendo used to hold on the padding to the stick has always been pretty weak. It sucks that you have to do it, but at least Nintendo made it relatively easy for you.

Now, god forbid you want to replace the screens.

It's nearly the end of the day and there's still only two other posters here I recognize and I think one or two others. I made a post on arch.b4k.dev's meta board trying to direct Nepfags here, but I assume some filter was preventing me from just directly linking the site, so I had to post a screenshot. Even worse, it directed me to solve a captcha when I tried to post the link, and said captcha was fucking broken. I'm trying to get the go-ahead to make a post directing people on another board on 8chan moe, but I can't post it on /v/ because Mark is a dick. I really hope more of our friends show up soon. I don't think I could make or participate in a Neptunia thread on Mark /v/.
>>7495

Just a heads-up for anyone posting on 8chan moe's /v/. Mark and his crew are indeed the same as they were before when I posted there and are stifling discussion of anime game censorship, not even necessarily on Nintendo consoles. I have screenshots where posts discussing censored/banned games on both Steam and Nintendo were just deleted, in the GamerGate thread where they should be as relevant as ever no less. So keep this in mind if you are going to continue posting there. Personally, I think they're even worse than 4Chan jannies, and I've had a few run-ins with the 4Chan trannitors myself. If you try to discuss Compile Heart games and the censorship impacting them, it's all but guaranteed Mark and his troupe will come down on you.

As a Lowee loyalist, I had basically only played Nintendo games for most of my life. The 3DS was when I first started seriously getting into more weeb-y games, starting with games like Fire Emblem Awakening and moving onto games like Lord of Magna, Tales of the Abyss, Rune Factory 4, and Stella Glow. The latter two are two of my favorite games on the 3DS and in general. I hold Stella Glow in very high regard. Having the same (EN) VA as Hilda from that game is part of what drew me to Blanc in the beginning. In a way, I can credit the 3DS and its substantial anime game library as one of the things that ultimately led me to Compile Heart and Neptunia. So yes, I'm very fond of my time with the 3DS.
>>7536
I don't. For one, Rom and Ram don't have much going for them as characters. They're basically just kids, and that's the whole crux of their appeal. And even there, only Ram has the "brat" appeal, while Rom has literally nothing. And since they are immortal goddesses, they can never "grow up" and develop as characters. They're stuck as kids forever. This is a good thing for the demographic they appeal to, but on the other hand, Blanc is also an eternal loli and is also an actual character who can experience and develop, unlike Rom and Ram. The idea that Rom and Ram could ever rule as goddesses of Lowee is laughable. For two, any screentime they get tends to inherently come at Blanc's expense, and Blanc's relationship with them is mostly just babysitting them. Blanc interacts better with the other goddesses. So Rom and Ram falter even there. As both an impartial judge of character and as a Blancfag, I don't see how much good could come from giving them much focus. Nepgear and Uni are much more substantial characters than them and even they fall short of their sisters.

>Regardless, any amount of otaku friendliness on their part was 100% a desperation move.
My point is that there was no such thing. Xbox is heavily trailing behind its competitors and losing relevance fast. They least of all should be picking and choosing what content they allow on their platform like this. And yet they are, and arguably have been doing this longer than their competitors, even (e.g., they censored the original Gal*Gun via post-launch patch, driving Inti Creates to Playstation; they later repeated history by demanding to censor its remake Gal*Gun Returns, causing Inti Creates to just drop the Xbox release completely much like with Steam Heart here). There is nothing driving these decisions but simple hatred for straight males and otakus. It's all ideological at its core.

I'd say it's just good ol' boomer sensibilities now being turned into "correctness" and SJW sensibilities. Part of me wants to say that someone knows exactly that and are just being blocked, but honestly these people are so prideful I doubt it.

I didn't know there were any nepfags still around, I feel like the last one. Still playing Sisters V Sisters atm.

I am pretty sure the re-translations are somewhere on archives on the net, and less they have been censored out of existence.

>Blanc's relationship with them is mostly just babysitting them
Once again I have to call out your lack of experience. Consider playing 4GO or SVS. There's not a whole lot, but Blanc has her moments where she's being affectionate towards her sisters. It's a nice side of her to see. With the right writer we could really have our cake and eat it too--by which I mean giving the twins a better shake without compromising on Blanc's screentime. But that requires the writers to think of sisters in terms of trios rather than duos and someone at CH apparently finds that to be unfair to the other nations. Yet they're okay with Vert having no one, of course.

We're from 4Chan's /nepgen/, if you couldn't tell. I stumbled upon this board during one of my 3-day vacations and kinda tried to shill it there. Nothing came of it at first, but I guess it did some good after all.
And yes, to say we have dwindled in number is an understatement. The biggest factor is likely ReVerse being the long-awaited 10th anniversary announcement instead of a new mainline. Soyny cutting Compile Heart's balls off is likely another factor. In any case, /nepgen/ became a very slow general kept alive by we dedicated few, and Neptunia/CH threads on /v/ became very rare and ephemeral. There's finally supposed to be an announcement of a new mainline this year, but whether or not it will live up to expectations is another matter.

Do you not see my point, though, where making their main appeal as characters being innocent, perpetual kids has basically written CH into a corner when it comes to giving them development? Innocence is primarily a lack of experience with the world, but experience is what drives growth. So how can Rom and Ram grow without losing their innocence?
>Consider playing 4GO or SVS
I intend to at least get 4GO down the line, but I've slowed down buying new games at the moment because I have a hefty backlog on both Switch and PC.

You could always pirate them, I know nep games say you are literally murdering my wifes if you don't buy the game but it isn't true. 4GO has some of the funnest gameplay in nepping. I also feel like Rom and Ram have gotten minor character development in MegaNep, 4GO and sVS
>So how can Rom and Ram grow without losing their innocence?
I mean nepgear is technically 34 or something due to time stuff from Nep V, and Vert had done a good job of growing or should I say corrupting her. I would have liked to see the Sisters gain NEXT forms that would maybe age them up physically to showcase their character growth. Whether they are bland or not Rom and Ram are some of the cutest girls in nep.

>You could always pirate them
Sure, I probably could, but that doesn't change the fact that I still have a significant backlog I'd like to clear up a bit before I start investing in too many new games.
>Vert had done a good job of growing or should I say corrupting her.
Nepgear joining Vert was played entirely as a gag, and Iris Heart whipped it out of her any way. I don't see how that counts as growth.

That kind of goes against the concept of the HDD forms to start with. The HDD forms are all manifestations of aspects of the goddesses that were already there to begin with. Neptune with her responsible, big sister nature and her "business side", Noire with her haughty arrogance, Blanc with her bottled-up emotions and perceived inadequacy, Uzume with her girly side before she had to adopt the tough tomboy persona to deal with Zero Dimension, Plutia with her pent-up sadistic urges, etc. The whole thing with the candidiates' HDD forms, and this is pointed out frequently, particularly with Nepgear, is that in contrast to their sisters, they hardly change.

Its shown in Meganep that ever since nepgears interactions with ultra dimension vert and allegedly getting molested by pluty:
<onee-chan I can't get married anymore
That nepgear on the whole is more of a degenerate pervert. She literally encouraged Rom and Ram to aggressively grope Uni in a bath in Meganep. That being said like you said before it is likely only for certain situations. Honestly wasn't really a fan of this part of the game, perhaps I am reading to into it.
>That kind of goes against the concept of the HDD forms to start with
Well in the OVA a young neptunes pseudo-HDD form is different to her more recent form. Perhaps maybe instead of changing physically you might be able to show a more mature change in Rom and Ram by showcasing them being more mature acting in their HDD forms.

I don't think Nepgear is a pervert, more so that she was "raised" by Neptune who thinks being perverted is really funny and spends lots of time around Vert, who definitely is.
In any case, since I started this discussion I'll say that what I want to see is how they react to situations that require them to be mature when Blanc isn't there to cover their asses, and whether or not they know if they'll never really grow, I feel like that could be interesting.

By "Meganep" do you mean VII or Megatag (Blanc's spinoff)?
>Perhaps maybe instead of changing physically you might be able to show a more mature change in Rom and Ram by showcasing them being more mature acting in their HDD forms.
That would be strange if it was limited to just their HDD. As I said, the whole thing with the goddesses' HDD forms is that they emphasize certain aspects of their personalities that are already there. If you limit Rom and Ram's "growth" to their HDD forms, it creates a disconnect.

I meant that the HDD change would be a reflection of their growth, but I doubt Nep is gonna get any mainline game any time too, Sisters V Sisters was the closest thing to a truly mainline game.

They're supposed to announce it this year.
