/mecha/ - Mecha & Tokusatsu

The first episode of Den-O gave me cancer, should I keep going? I was wanting more comfy charm/comedy like Agito, but I didn't like the wimpy faggot protagonist.
Also, the Agito game on PSX is fun. It's simple but I like the effort they put into making it feel like an episode of the show and how the song suddenly kicks in during each fight. Only think I don't like is they should've padded the end of fight cutscenes a little bit, the end is really abrupt. For everything else I'm glad they made sure to have things short and sweet and still skippable so you can get right back into the game.

What are generally agreed on as the best of the Kamen Rider series?

Den-O keeps going that way all the way up to it's spin offs. I liked it more because of Momotaros and the main actor portrayal of all the other Imagins. The way he portrays the main character is, indeed, infuriating.
So, if you didn't like it in the beginning, you won't like it at all. It barely changes over the course of all it's iterations.
As for the Agito game, it is one of the best tokusatsu fighting games. It can be really fun as a fighting game on it's own, with the plus side of having the main cast and monsters from the show, for the the fans.

There probably isn't any agreement. Some people prefer the classic ones (fight evil in the name of justice), while others prefer the soap opera ones 9Kuuga, Agito...), and then, some like the more melancholic/bad ending ones (Ryuki, Blade...). There are also those who prefer the "post-Den-O" ones, with their variable mixes of comedy, adventure, action and out-of-the-box plots.

We could all have a far more active site together as one. The webring is dead & has no future. The bulk of everyone migrated to 8moe. Regardless of what some may think of Acid or Mark, the site is far better for activity. I'd encourage everyone to go to 8moe.

The issue isn't putting all the eggs in one basket. The issue is one basket is missing what's in the other basket. Both suffer because they don't have enough boards or users.

Someday, if its at all possible, I'd like to see a western show like Kamen Rider.  The biggest problem I see with this, figuring that we're already in an almost perfect hypothetical situation regarding everything else. is the theme.
I feel like knights, as much as I love them, are a little overdone, at least with most modern interpretations of them.  So what would a good starting theme be for an origial english toku show to distinguish itself from it's competitors be?

what's the best show out of the Reiwa era so far? i'm a showabro with Black but both Geats and Zero-One look fun.

But Gavv is proving to be great fun, and I would reccommend giving it a watch.
