Also is it just me or finding movies that way feels so much more enjoyable even if the movie sucks?

Season 4 was pretty easy to get through despite some repetitive 'use your app, kids!' scenes. The powers don't even do anything in the show besides initiating a generic 'armor glows and they're suddenly better at fighting' scene. Aaron (archer dude) actually gets some proper character development without having to rely on the plot, Clay has the obvious plot twists to his story as the 'main character'. Pity the rest pretty much stay the same, the villains still feel like they have more personality. The season has a proper ending, but they left a few 'to be continued' parts and I can imagine why fans would feel robbed after the next season never got to be (despite there being a wave of sets based on it).

AR apps are cursed.

Minidolls! First released in 2012, they were exclusively used in the "girl" lines until The Lego Movie 2, after which time they immediately went back to being exclusively used in the girl lines. Minidolls have fewer points of articulation than minifigs and are thus more challenging to customize. Let's see your custom minidolls!

He wrote Terry Long, which is his self-insert (a 'handsome' older man) dating one of the Teen Titans. (Emphasis on the teen part.)

The Elves sets were cool, I still want to use the giant animal heads as arm cannons for a mech. Or some fucked up hydra monstrosity.

>Only six of the genres are elaborated upon, the other four are mentioned in the app's bandmate list.

>Hidden Side has ghost characters you can unlock by playing the Ghost Mode in-game, including the bosses shown on set boxes (Playing Ghost Mode is free and doesn't require having a set btw, it's actually more fun than being a Ghost Hunter). All of them have personal little descriptions on their profiles, like how they died or what they do after their death. This includes references to the places you see in the sets and cartoon.

I love when LEGO puts in little easter eggs and references like that. I want Tony Stark's Sakaarian Iron Man almost purely for Tony's torso alone. (Also, mech parts.)

Unrelated note, but when it comes to LEGO and lore there's two types of universes:
>Non-Brick Built
Shows that act like normal fiction, the only actual LEGO thing being the characters.
This includes shows like Ninjago, Nexo Knights, Monkie Kid, City Adventures.

>Brick-Built
>Things are made out of LEGO and it's treated as normal. Objects tend to break apart into bricks & pieces, characters can detach their hairpieces (on purpose or accidentally) and the main characters have the ability to build things out of LEGO parts. (Thanks to the LEGO Movie I assume these characters are so-called 'Master Builders'.)
Things like The LEGO Movie franchise (including the Ninjago Movie, hence the differences with the show) and licensed shows like Marvel/DC/Jurassic Park count under this.

I've been wondering, you hear about figurines manufacturer all the time, things like those guys who create custom Warhammer statuettes and the like, but I've never seen LEGO specialists.

Basically what I'm asking is:
-What are the tools used by LEGO modders to make their own brick sets and Lego people?
-Are there online tools?
-Are there behind the scenes into LEGO creation? As in, videos of the creative process behind designing a set/legokin, marketing/focus groups and actual production thereof?
-Who are the LEGO engineers that decide how many bricks should a building have?

This pretty much shows that KKII is the most important theme post-2000 as it lays out the blueprint for the approach Lego would take to following themes:
-card game
-fleshed out lore with named characters and a timeline
-a group of colour-coded heroes with specific powers/abilities
-comic series
-book series
-animated series
You can see all of these elements in Ninjago which is the biggest System theme released. These probably came from Bionicle which was an immediate success and the failing TLG reused the core elements of this in their attempt at turning the company around

I think its popularity so many years after relies on the fans growing up and reading up on the storyline. It's so rich that you have to appreciate all the effort that's been put into it and the Bionicle universe is fleshed out really well.

>figured it wouldn't matter
I'm not really bothered by it; if you think that your post merits its own thread then by all means create your own thread. Now that I think about it, this may have been better off as its own thread because we've been able to have a discussion about it.

Post the latest Lego leaks, rumours, or upcoming themes here. Lego's just announced a Mario line and this is the rumored set line up. 71361 is a CMF wave according to the rumors, which should prove interesting.

How badly IS Vidiyo doing, like are there actual stats instead of rumors and a couple of entitled AFOLs cutting boxes? Do I honestly need to check the app to see how active things are?

And take a good look. Two genres/factions are getting normal beatboxes (Monster Metal & Fantasy Folk). I see five of the six formerly released beatbox genres are getting stages, is there a Tropicon one that isn't leaked yet?

It's not too farfetched to predict a third wave with Discowboy & Samurap beatboxes at the very least.
Replies: >>1088
>>1087
As far as I know there's no stats or anything, but bear in mind that even Brickset published an article about Vidiyo possibly flopping.
https://brickset.com/article/58772/has-vidiyo-flopped-already

Though I think its not too hard to see why a ridiculously overpriced, badly marketed theme is flopping already. Amazon discounted them from day one and stores have been discounting them recently, and it doesn't help sales that rumours of box cutting are going round. The app suppsodely suffers like every other Lego app - barely works, heavy on space and memory, only works on the latest phones, and the AR gimmick just doesn't integrate nicely, which is yet another nail in Vidiyo's coffin. I'm not holding my breath for a wave 3.
Replies: >>1089
>>1088
Counterpoint: The way they had wave 2 ready and the amount of content released in it, I think they split up their originally prepared product into three pre-made waves to extend it as much as possible. There's apparently going to be an in-game store outfit update this Saturday and people still seem to be making videos too, so the app's not as dead as everyone proclaims.
Replies: >>1090
>>1089
So each wave is like a DLC of sorts? I guess we'll see this Saturday if the app is as dead as everyone says it is.
Replies: >>1093
>>1090
>DLC
Sort of, except it's more testing the waters and extending the product's life for as long as possible by not releasing one huge wave of sets at once. (Imagine being a kid and trying to collect it all, ouch.) If they can make it until after the COVID situation is over, it'll be a blessing for them.

So, after we received a lot of critics we decided to steer to this version of Willy Wonka and we made this final. We won't change it anymore.

I don't get it, did they use Gene Wilder instead of Johnny Depp's designs?
Honestly, JD's funny but he looked like a damn queerio. Gene's design is superb and it really sells you on the whole "crazed, eccentric manchild" look. I think it's the garish colors that really make you feel unsafe next to him.
I think changing to Wilder's version of Wonka was for the best; he's much more iconic. While I don't particularly like licensed themes Charlie and the Chocolate Factory certainly lends itself nicely to Lego. Good luck getting 10,000 supporters, you're almost there!
