I'm a big shotgun enthusiast, myself. I recently took out a groundhog with a .410 slug from my backdoor. The slug made its entrails into extrails. Don't let anyone go thinking they'll be left standing from a .410 slug.
What are your favorite loadings, Anons? Favorite shotguns?

If I could do it all over, I absolutey would have gone .410 for a general property/garden gun. I did the 12 and 20 guage thing and it was just too much gun for what I needed them for. I did look into the Bond Arms derringers but probably would have been better served with a long gun. The Taurus Judge was pretty nuts too but way too clunky to justify.

20 gauge is absolutely viable, with the right setup.
I think .410 handguns are a bit of a meme. I love my Circuit Judge to death though, and highly recommend it. It is made by Rossi, so there isn't the same concern about Taurus quality control. If you have 800 USD lying around, highly recommend getting one.
