Jojo part 3. There's a lot of classic stuff I still want to watch, like old Gundam and LOTGH. Probably a lot of classics I haven't even heard of.
>suggest
Wizardry, 1991. Fun proto-isekai adventure movie. Unsho Ishizuka Jet Black, part 3 Joseph Joestar has a bit part.

tbh, I haven't watched much anime in several years, and now it's hard to even remember what I've seen aside from the most obvious shit everyone's already seen. Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, GitS.

I was watching SlamDunk! a while ago, but I wanted to play games on my phone and draw in bed while I watched stuff, so stuff that's not in English kind of got pushed down the list.

Lewd AI female Polnareff makes me feel funny.

Key the Metal Idol

Robot girl tries to become human, it's got 'puters and it talks about identity.

Also watched Haibane Renmei recently and loved it. I watched both the sub and dub, i think i'm growing more fond of amateurish voice acting in anime and jrpgs.

People sometimes compare Key to Serial Experiments Lain. I wanted to watch it at some point but haven't brought myself to doing it yet.

I've never seen it but I always thought the girl looked sad and a little confused.

She is. She is confused. Some even say retarded.

Mo Dao Zu Shi, it's a chinknime adapted from a novel taking place in a fictional wuxia setting with several clans watching over their respective region to exorcise ghosts and demons that appear because of "resentful energy"
The setting is a bit similar to Naruto since the various clans can attack and conquer each other, and the plot resembles Avatar the Last Airbender in that the most powerful clan wants to bully others around
the story follows Wei Wuxian who is adopted by one of the clan heads because he is the son of the clan head's crush but he had to marry a woman he doesn't love for politics
anyways Wei is a chaotic "free spirit" Black Star/Naruto/Onizuka kind of character but not as goofy, and he contrasts with Lan who is more mature, wise, always disciplined, always calm

I really enjoyed the first season and I'm now binging the second, but it turns out the original novel was a BL story, which doesn't at all transpire through the animated series because based CCP's censorship laws

Wolf's Rain

Actually, the robot torso (Lain's "father") from the lesser-known PlayStation game is lifted directly from Key the Metal Idol, I believe Lain's character designer directly lampshades the fact in one of his artbooks. I've definitely seen crossover fanart of the two shows from around the time the anime came out, on one of those old ".ne.jp" sites, but I can't find it on the boorus and tracking it down on Google is totally out of the question as of two or three years ago.
It makes me a little sad to see all the anime I grew up with become the appropriated "nostalgia" of e-girl poseurs who find reprehensible everything about the original culture surrounding and generating those shows. I would rather old characters be lost to the sands of time rather than be Frankensteinishly revived and kept on life support with TikTok and ugly eating disorder fanarts.

legends of the galactic heroes, its about a forever war between two space faring nations, one being democratic, the other autocratic, it is very good and required watching for anyone interested in tactics and strategy, with no aspect of each not touched upon at least once

Master Keaton is a great anime. It's by the same guy behind Monster and is kinda like an episodic version of that. It's a mystery about a half-Japanese half-British history professor/ex-special forces soldier who works for a peculiar insurance company.

Blue Gender is good. It's a romance about humanity using mechs to desperately fight against extinction by a gigantic insect race.

Ranking of Kings is a cute one. It's about a little deaf/mute boy whose parents were giants. It's sort of like Dororo in that Bojji is born crippled like Hyakkimaru because his father made a deal with a demon for unmatched strength (though his dad isn't a selfish shithead like Hyakkimaru's). Even though he's the crown prince, his subjects look down on him due to his disabilities and they undermine his bid to the throne in favor of his younger half-brother. He winds up befriending a shadow human thief who sticks up for him and they go on an adventure.

>Oh my gosh, this anime girl is just like me. I gotta repurpose her as a vehicle for expressing my childhood trauma and regret on being a loose junkie!
They even pull this crap with wholesome stuff like Hello Kitty. It's gross.

That's probably my favorite anime. So many likeable characters and well-paced plot after the first season, not that it's bad. It gets pretty philosophical without ever feeling pretentious, kind of like a mature version of Star Wars.

Wolf's Rain and Frieren are pretty great, too, though I hope Frieren returns focus to the odd job formula. I guess the exams arc was a good way to introduce a bunch of new cast members quickly.
Oh yeah, some guy told me he tried watching Galactic Heroes with his brother and they both laughed at the naval combat in space for some reason. It was enough to make them drop the show.
finished watching the last 20 episodes of LOGH, it ended as i had suspected it would from the beginning, but it didnt make the feels any less intense, it has been a long time since an anime has made be feel genuine emotion, and now that i've finished the series, there is that feeling of loss that always accompanies finishing something truly great

iktf. I was going to make a vapid food analogy, but I don't think that does LOGH justice. I don't really know how to put it eloquently that LOGH is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of anime as far as writing is concerned.

it is well worth the effort to start
finally got around to watching attack on titan, it was ok, kept a consistent level of story quality unusual for long runnning series, though some parts of it just take so fucking long which is why i ultimately didnt like it

I remembr picking up the scans when less than 2 volumes were available online, but then dropping it because of the yucky relationship with Mikasa. The disgusting incel fantasy vibes it gave off were too off putting,
And the setting was just edge cranked to 11 trying to qualify as grimdark and mature

Honestly, the first chapters hurt so much to read that I got a kick out of seeing it shit the bed more than 10 years later, the payoff was honestly worth the wait
