If you would like you can advertise any Christmas plans on this thread https://trashchan.xyz/christmas/thread/3570.html or you can just stop by and and check out the other boards' activities.

Christians and non-Christians, welcome to our dedicated thread. Thank you for the invite! We're from /christian/ and we're all here to have an incredible time with you all for the next week or so. Please, feel free to pay us a visit at >>>/christian/ or post in this thread.
---
BTW, /christian/ is still in business on sleepychan, Anon
https://zzzchan.xyz/christian/index.html

We don't have much to offer unfortunately, as I made a thread asking us what we should do about less than four days before today, and we were only officially invited to post here with our own thread about yesterday. Regardless, in the spirit of Christmas and the Holy Night, I wanted to start by spreading goodwill and good cheer to everyone by sharing some verses that I hold close to my heart and invite others to do the same, even if they aren't a Christian.

Past sharing scriptures, this is meant to be a comfy thread, so really anything can be discussed as long as it's somewhat relevant to Christianity and follows the rules here (don't forget about Santa's Thunderdome, please do us all a favor and keep this thread clean at the very least!). This thread can also be for prayer requests, support, questions about faith, confessions, you name it!

Now that's all out of the way, here's some verses I'd like to share from my King James Bible and what they mean for me.
Matthew 17:20 - "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
Proverbs 4:23 - "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
Proverbs 20:29 - "The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head."
Psalm 41:3 - "The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness."

In some sense, both these viewpoints miss the most important fundamental point here.
A) God (by all appearances) literally designed the ~14BnY history & evolution of this universe for the (again, apparently) sole benefit of humanity. (This phenomenon has a scientfific name, BTW : The Anthropic Principle.)
B) He further carefully devised the form & state of this Milky Way galaxy to initially enrich our Sol nebulae with all the vital heavy elements only abundant enough near the deadly core of our own supermassive black hole near it's core...and then slung us out into the outer region into just the perfect location to support life -- and particular the species homo sapiens sapiens.

Black holes are indeed deadly (and for important, good reasons). And compared to the vast span of the stretching-out heavens, we are indeed quite minscule in proportion.

Yet every bit of this was all fashioned just so (this is not opinion, but hard scientific fact) to allow for the existence of life at all. But even at that it still required (and requires still!) the direct, Providential hand of the Creator to sustain it for this very narrow window of time called natural human existence (soon to go 'out of focus' again, BTW).

>tl;dr
All this stuff is gloriously mind-boggling

Merry Christmas, Orthobros!
Well, shit. Since anoncafe is shutting down where are we hosting the event the following year?
Well, at least we made it through 2023 Christmas carrying on the good cheer, and there'll be the better part of a year to see where the chips land. Just hoping the boards on other sites I still use are around, and get the invite again.
What's going to happen to /christmas/ now that anon.cafe is shutting down?

When I was a boy I just wanted presents at Christmas.
When I was older I wanted to exchange presents to my family and realized it was Jesus Birthday.
When I got older I understood how it's better to give and Jesus birthday can be appreciated more by knowing his passion and ressurection.
Merry Christmas.

I don't care about any of the religious justifications. For me, it's all about the atmosphere and spending time with my family. Even the presents don't do too much for me anymore.

Merry Christmas, by the way.

Please make note of it. I will (re)pin your thread and add it into the Community Events listing.
Here's the schedule for the nabe/Euronabe New Year Special:

>Gundam Thunderbolt Movies
>Tetsuwan Birdy
>Akira
>Shounan Junai Gumi
>Castle of Caligostro
>Pichu to Pikachu
>K-ON Movie
Sometime during this will be the last episode of cooking with Emiya, and sometime at the end will be an eight episode marathon of the end of Shichinin no Nana as the first and last of the episodes in this marathon are about the New Year.

>oh god why are you using h.264 instead of h.265?
Unless you have a $3000 computer, it takes upwards of an hour per minute to process in h.265 as compared to about 2-5 minutes per minute in h.264.
>>3525
Sorry that Akira, Caligostro, Pichu to Pikachu, and the K-ON Movie didn't play yesterday. There were some technical difficulties with the encodes. Feel free to join now, as we're only a quarter through Akira!

Merry Christmas. Sorry for the late reply, this month has been very busy for all of us. We are a small Spanish speaking community of anons dedicated to animation and comics that started back in 2015 on Hispachan and over the years we managed to raise a unique board culture separated from the rest of the board which made it very special. Hispa passed away on mid 2022 but we didn't, we now operate as an independent board on 8chan dot moe you can come and say hello if you want, English speaking anons are more than welcomed.
